Mondale to Accept Nomination; Hume "Almost Guarantees" Return of Senator Mondale

Fox News Sunday, relying on the reporting of Fox News Channel’s Carl Cameron, stated that Walter Mondale is likely to accept the nomination to appear on the Minnesota ballot on Wednesday or Thursday. Bill Kristol stated that he believed the Democrats would hold the Minnesota seat with Mondale on the ticket. Brit Hume went even further, saying that he would "almost guarantee that Walter Mondale will be the new Senator."
