Terrorist Reed Sentenced to Life

Richard Reed got the maximum life sentence in federal court today. Note what the U.S. District Judge William Young said:

"We are not afraid of any of your terrorist
co-conspirators, Mr. Reid. We
are Americans. We have been through the fire
before.

You are not an enemy combatant — you are a terrorist. You are not a
soldier in any war — you are a terrorist. To call you a soldier gives you far
too much stature. You are a terrorist and we do not negotiate with terrorists.
We hunt them down one by one and bring them to justice."

Ross spoke at Ashland U. this evening and was excellent. After his discussion of Israel and Palestine, his discussion turned to the Axis of Evil. I was specifically interested in North Korea. I am for a war in Iraq, but North Korea seems to be more dangerous and the greater current evil. Am I the only one worried? 6 Months and counting... is all it will take to reinforce the type of risky/calculated behavior War with Iraq is supposed to discourage.

P.S. when we hunt down animals we kill them, when we hunt down terrorists we domesticate/imprison them for life?

Brilliant! Give that judge a medal.
