Jerry Springer for Senate

It looks increasingly as if Jerry Springer will run in the Democratic primary for the US Senate (against Voinovich). Here is his new web site runjerryrun. If he runs--there are rumors that he has set up an exploratory committee--it will be very helpful to the crippled Democratic Party in Ohio (I’m kidding).

The Democratic Party in Ohio is even more anemic than the GOP is in California.

I suspect the Springer "run" is more about money than about really running against prince George. Springer is a good draw at functions and such, and the Democrats have him out on a state tour right now. No doubt if these waters prove more than interesting, Springer might go for it. And that maybe the risk Dems are really running by using him as moneybags. They might not be able to stop his wrecking ball from appling the finishing touches on the kooky Party of Kucinich and Co.

I bet you if Springer runs, he comes close to winning it.

Actually, he may. Yet I don’t think he will get to within 5%. I’ll bet a lunch on that.

"I bet you if Springer runs, he comes close to winning it."

Surely you’re joking.
