Iraq war swells al Qaeda’s ranks

reports that the International Institute of Strategic Studies (payment required) argues that the "War in Iraq has swollen the ranks of al Qaeda and galvanized the Islamic militant group’s will." US intelligence appears to agree with this assesment.
