Do you want to be able shoot around the corner? Take a look at this rifle. Very cool. And then there is this anti-rocket laser cannon that recently got funding.
Look again at that "cornershot" weapon -- its just a glock pistol with a DV camera attached, and lots of battery packs to keep it running. And what if you want to shoot around a left-hand corner?
Im sure it works, it just looks awfully awfully specialized -- I wouldnt want to depend on one while Im moving from one corner to the next.
BTW, the Germans developed something similar for WWII street fighting -- they took a bolt-action G98 rifle and bent its barrel I think 45 or 70 degrees or thereabouts, and mounted a prizmatic sight on it to allow it to be aimed around the corner. Since it shot a standard rifle cartridge, it hit very hard, could penetrate walls, jeeps, etc, and was sufficiently accurate for the ranges involved (
