Today is the 85th anniversary of the end of World War I. Eisenhower declared in 1954 that Armistice Day should be called Veteran’s Day. He said that we should "solemnly remember the the sacrifices of all those who fought so valiantly, on the seas, in the air, and on foreign shores, to preserve our heritage of freedom." Today we honor the living veterans, on Memorial Day we honor those who gave their lives. And, yesterday, by the way, was the birthday of the Marine Corps. Honor is the subject of this day.
