Kerry and Iraq
Posted by Peter W. Schramm
Time explains how Kerry would undo the "mistakes" of Iraq. And then runs this interview with him on the same theme. It is right to characterize Kerry as "uncomfortable" (as Time does) with these issues. He will not be persuasive on these positions on Iraq (I emphasize the plural). He doesnt like unfair questions. Welcome to the Major Leagues, Senator Kerry.

John Kerry may know foreign leaders, as did Al Gore, but that doesnt mean he knows foreign policy as now defined by September 11, 2001. This is what makes George W. Bush an expert: This new war policy was thrust upon him and Kerry has yet to earn his stripes. Commanding a boat in Vietnam makes him an expert on cammanding boats in Vietnam. But since that war is over, I find no solice in Kerry as a leader in the War on Terrorism.
He is too anxious to involve other nations which showed no interest in ousting Hussein and giving up their oil contracts.
