Arnold soaring

The Field Poll shows that 64% of California voters say they believe Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger is doing a better job as Governor than they expected. Just 11% think he is doing a worse job, while for 15% he has met their expectations. And 65% of the voters say they approve of the job he is doing, and only 23% disapprove. See
Daniel Weintraub’s comments on this amazing feat. If you don’t think that the national Democratic Party is worried about this, you should keep your day job.

as a california democrat who reluctantly did not vote for AS, i am certainly among those for whom his performance has exceeded my expectations, but who is not slightly concerned about his effect on national politics. Bill Jones’s showing against Boxer is evidence of that. AS is hardly representative of the national republican party. Ironically, while I am anti-abortion, he is pro-abortion, one of many ways he veers from the party line.

Well, there you go, Christopher. You should keep your day job. :)

Bush is unlikely to be competitive in California, but Arnold could help some in house seats and the legislature. I doubt that he can impact the Senate race (unless, of course, he decides to run for Boxer or Feinstein’s seat after his stint as Governor...)
