Kerry unfit to be Commander in Chief?

John O’Neill and other veterans (over twenty) will hold a press conference tomorrow announcing that they are convinced that Kerry is not fit to be President. O’Neill said: "We have 19 of 23 officers who served with [Kerry]. We have every commanding officer he ever had in Vietnam. They all signed a letter that says he is unfit to be commander-in-chief." O’Neill was the guy that debated Kerry on Dick Cavett in 1971 and which C-Span has recently aired. "We are going to be presenting a letter that deals with Kerry’s unfitness to be commander and chief that has been signed by hundreds of swift boat sailors, including most of those who served with Kerry," O’Neill explained.

"The ranks of the people signing [the letter] range from admiral down to seaman, and they run across the entire spectrum of politics, specialties, and political feelings about the Vietnam War," he added.
This could be interesting.

How exactly did GWB qualify himself to be commander in chief before he was president?

The answer probably goes something like this. Before he was elected president, a lot of people wondered if he would be a good commander-in-chief, and many liberal journalists attacked him for supposed ignorance about foreign affairs. But, few doubted whether he would be a good commander-in-chief as opposed to "chief diplomat." Kerry, on the other hand, causes one to have severe reservations about his abilities to be commander-in-chief. For example, his essentially unretracted statement that the soldiers in Vietnam were all war criminals. His unclear, vacillating position on the war makes one think that another Spain might be in the offing. In addition to many other issues, Kerry gives me grave doubts that he would stand up for American interests, make tough decisions in a new world after Sept. 11th, and maintain American sovereignty and independence of action. Bush has proven himself as commander-in-chief. I am too frightened of Kerry in the same position to give him a chance. Would you want to serve in the military under President Kerry who threw away his war medals? It’s hard to even spit out those words.

"How exactly did GWB qualify himself to be commander in chief before he was president?" The same way WJC did?

Actually, there’s quite a difference between (1) not having demonstrated qualification ("fitness") and (2) having demonstrated lack of qualification ("unfitness").

How exactly did GWB qualify himself to be commander in chief before he was president?
To ELC: please define the qualifications you had in mind.
Thanks.

I keep reading about this letter, but I am not able to FIND the letter.

Can you tell me where it is posted and to whom it is addressed?

Failing that, could you post it on this website?

Thank you.
