Strengthening Constitutional Self-Government

No Left Turns

On the move

I am travelling, currently sitting in a hotel room in California finishing reading term papers (this should be combat pay!). I came to attend a funeral of a friend of mine (and the Ashbrook Center’s). Brad Mishler passed away a few days ago, and the services were yesterday. He was buried next to his wife at La Verne Cemetery. They were both very fine people, both lovers of things beautiful and noble. They appreciated various forms of human excellence, especially in art and in politics, nowadays a seemingly uncommon juxtaposition, but not in their mind or mine. I valued their friendship and their support, and I will miss them. Because of this, and other meetings, I will be on the road for another week, so expect me to blog only a little, from time to time. Now, back to the term papers!

"Combat pay"?? I appreciate your comments and agree with almost all of them, but in view of the folks in Iraq really EARNING their combat pay, somehow grading papers just isn’t in the same league. Under the circumstances, a very poor choice in words.

Boy, your name is quite appropriate - lighten up! You’re also not a teacher -I can attest that Peter has chosen his words well:)

As a former colleague of his, I can deny that he tortures and abuses his students.

Apparently, Ken has never sat thru one of Peter’s lectures.

Why don’t you go back to Deanworld and make yourself a hazelnut latte, Starbuck? Gratuitous insults against the author of this website are of no interest to its readers. Presumably even you are capable of understanding this. What possible value do you think all your trash talk has?

I think most soilders would exchange base pay and combat pay for your regular pay...

Relax dude, it’s called a joke. I’m sure that even Peter had a laugh at that one. Try the decaf next time.

Next time, try putting your own name, or nickname, on your comment instead of mine. Plenty of readers would have thought Starbuck was serious. This is a public forum, not a means of tweaking
people with inside jokes.

In addition, comments on another post -- the ones where Starbuck equates our abuses to Saddam’s -- created a reasonable presumption of hostility. Did they not?

Who died and made you king of the blog? You need to relax. And if you don’t like what I have to say, DON’T READ IT.

Who would have thought that Peter in his hotel room would stimulate such a number of responses? I want to party with you, dude!

Hell yeah. Everybody knows that Peter is the Spuds McKenzie of the modern day Conservative movement.

I think I just felt Hell freeze over! Bucky agreed with me! Well, I guess agreeing over the party habits of that hog-riding dude is a good way to bring liberals & conservatives together!

Don’t worry Tony, I’m sure it won’t happen often. :-)
