How to think clearer

The benefits of alcohol are many, as we know. Now there is more:

"Research to be published tomorrow by academics at University College London has found that those who even drink only one glass of wine a week have significantly sharper thought processes than teetotallers.

Sir Michael Marmot of UCL led the study
The benefits of alcohol, which are thought to be linked to its effect on the flow of blood to the brain, can be detected when a person drinks up to 30 units of alcohol - about four to five bottles of wine - per week."

Good heavens! 4 to 5 bottles a week to get the benefit? If so, then why aren’t the signs carried by the unemployed winos on the corners any more clever?

I’ll get busy immediately, testing the accuracy of this claim.

Sounds bogus to me. I would wager that a few years from now this "research" will be debunked.

Interesting that a while back similar studies were touting wine as the choice for the heart health. It didn’t take too long to realize that grape juice provided the benefits of flavonoids without the deleterious effects of alcohol.

This smacks of a bias effort to validate ones drinking habit.

Re-David......Yeah, so?

I have to think that wine drinkers are naturally more intellectually stimulated and sharper thinkers for other reasons beyond Vino. Think about the crowd that’s drawn to wine in the first place. Snobbery? It’s a fact man. That said, I think we should do our part here and not take any chances.

Actually causation is the other way around. Anyone who denies himself the benefits of alcohol is just kinda dumb up front.
