I almost forgot to mention this very important story: Kofi Annan says that the U.S. war in Iraq was "illegal." And this: "I think in the end everybodys concluded its best to work together with our allies and through the UN. I hope we do not see another Iraq-type operation for a long time - without UN approval and much broader support from the international community." Thank you Mr. Secretary General, thank you. Thats another 100,000 votes for Mr. Bush.
Is Kofi Annon really that unaware of the facts or is he simply lying? The fact is that there was never a peace treaty with Iraq in 1991, only a cease-fire, so as soon as Saddams government broke the terms of that cease-fire the U.S. (or any of the other Gulf War allies) could resume the war at any time that they chose to do so entirely within the international laws governing warfare.
