Polls are, generally, reliable. Its just that they cant ever seem to measure the "ambivalence" factor quite accurately. While the American people seem to be very consitent -- forty years of Democrat control of the U.S. House is a great example -- they do seem to bend with the "Winds of Change." Ever so slowly.
