The Conspiracy Theorists Get Their Day

CNN is reporting that California Senator Barbara Boxer will join a handful of House Democrats in objecting to the counting of Ohio’s electoral votes during the constitutionally mandated joint session which will be held today to tally the nation’s electoral votes. This is the final election concession to the Michael Moore wing of the Democratic party--those who have been flooding the blogosphere with conspiracy theories since election day. The objection will be put to rest with a simple majority vote--one which should be joined by numerous Democrats who wish to reassert some measure of sanity to their party.

Boxer should thank her lucky stars that she lives in California. She could not get elected in any other state. And Stephanie Tubbs Jones had better be thankful that her district is so gerrymandered. If she ever tried to move somewhere less than 80% Democratic, she would take an electoral beating of monumental proportions.

Ladies, it’s time for you to grow up and accept that (1) your man, John Kerry, lost, both in Ohio and nationwide, by safe margins; (2) you lost seats in both houses of Congress; and (3) you control a fraction of governships, and cannot even win those seats in NY, CA, and MA, the three most liberal states in the Union. We don’t need conspiracy theories to figure this out. Your ideas are bad, your candidates are weak, and your demagoguery no longer works.

It’s really just that simple. Deal with it.
