Are these guys gunning for the 2005 "Blog of the Year" award, hard on the heels of their orchestration of the information necessary to discredit Dan Rather’s 60 Minutes story? Note: I’m not suggesting untoward motives on the part of the Powerline guys; their skepticism is healthy and well-informed, and plays the role the press is supposed to play in a democratic republic.

--- you forgot to add "unless, of course, such investigative journalism is attempting or succeeding to uncover anything unfavorable about a conservative or Republican, especially one that I like, in which case we should assume that the shoddy journalism exhibited by Dan Rather & CBS News regarding Bush’s military service is the standard practice being engaged in, and dismiss it as the work of overzealous reporters with an axe to grind."
