FOX Sports provides a top ten list of the greatest individual streaks in sports history. Topping the list, of course, is Joe Ds 56 game hitting streak. Lance Armstrong gets short shrift , receiving only honorable mention.
A small break from judicial filibusters, Bolton, etc.
What about Ohio States 34 year streak against Northwestern?
Better yet, Ohio Voter, how about Notre Dames streak against Navy. I believe it is 41 going back to 1964.
OSU vs. the Mildcats? Irish vs. the Middies?
I thought the category was "sports streaks," not "brutally Darwinian slaughters of the helpless."
While it was ended a while back and might actually be a more interesting (i.e., competitive) matchup these days, the annual gridiron drubbing that Maryland used to get from the University of Joe Paterno had a certain "Buckeyes whomp Northwestern and then shoot the wounded" quality to it. I think JoePa won like 29 straight before the two schools called it quits. And Maryland never plays Navy in football because of one teensy-weensy little student riot that broke out in Annapolis way back in 1964 . . . now theres a game that might have been a great in-state rivalry.
