Culture Gap?

Dan Balz, writing in the Washington Post. on the "culture gap" facing Democrats.
On the other hand, see this book, by Mo Fiorina of Stanford University/Hoover Institution, who argues that the whole "red-blue" schematic is way overstated, as does lefty Robert Kuttner in todays Boston Globe.

There is a segment of the "Red" population that can still be fooled by the Democrats. The question for Dean, Kuttner, Hillary, et al, is how far to go in lying about cultural issues. The question is not easily answered, given not the Democrats almost nonexistent ethics, but their pride. But it becomes less of a problem if Republican candidates dont use these no-no "wedge" issues.
