Intelligent Design
Posted by Peter W. Schramm
John G. West briefly argues that "intelligent design is not a religious-based idea, but instead an evidence-based scientific theory that holds there are certain features of living systems and the universe that are best explained by an intelligent cause."

Intelligent Design is more of a criticism of evolution than anything else.
Calling ID "evidence-based" does not make it so. There is evidence, but not of any intelligence.
Well, pointing out the inadequacy of science-based theories to explain 100% of biological outcomes (as ID attempts to do) really doesnt make it a science-based theory itself. For it to become that it would need to propose its own empirically-verifiable theories to replace the Darwinian template. Doesnt do that, so it aint a science-based theory.
I do wish people would get more education about the philosophy of science. You have to understand something before you can meaningfully critique it.
