"And I think youre saying the average guy out there whos considering recruitment is justified in saying I dont want to serve," the interviewer continued.
Talk about a leading questions! I guess the interviewer didnt want to leave anything to chance. He got his story, just the way he wanted it.
A few weeks ago the Centre Daily Times (State College, PA) ran an article about Murtha. They interviewed local veterans about Murthas anti-war stance. Those veterans were very disgusted by Murtha and saw him as a traitor. Central PA has a large amount of veterans. Murtha has abandoned his largest voting block.
So, Congressman Murtha, why are people enlisting?
I think we know how that answer would go. Theyre duped, or poor, or whatever - not unlike Eleanor Clifts remark some time ago, likening our soldiers to mercenaries.
"Ill cite many reasons why they enlist that reduce their motives to the pitiful, but I support the troops and Im a PATRIOT!
Just sad. I served for 12 years and was deployed to Bosnia and Kosovo with almost no national security justification. I went because it was my job and I liked being a part of something good and noble and worthy of our traditions.
This post rambles and I apologize. Just wanted to vent, so it may not make a great deal of sense.
Murtha wanted to change his name to Martha to acknowledge his new, ball-less state, but the gender rejected him.
Did you know that if you rearrange the letters in the word PATRIOT you get TRAITOP? Pretty close to TRAITOR, if you ask me.
