HRC woos Catholics

According to this piece, she qualifies "as one of the most overtly Christian politicians in the country." You read that right; and there’s something to it. Now read the article.

She’s a great politician and very effective at positioning herself to woo voters. She may lead the Democrats in "talking about Jesus" to win voters and it may be effective. She may even have a deep spiritual life in private. However, this is one "John Paul Catholic" who remains unconvinced that her policy positions are compatible with Catholicism on key issues, especially regarding the "culture of life" issues. She may talk a good game but will never win my vote.

Yeah, I presume you’re talking about Hillary signing on to the Iraq War, a war which John Paul flatly refused to put his blessing on, a war which seems to be defying on a daily basis Bush’s declaration that when there is any doubt in a situation one should err on the side of life?

I’ve not mentioned any specific issues - I’ll leave you to read the encyclical and further papal pronouncements about specific issues and decide.
