If you think that the Phillies are the only news item in Pennsylvania, then think again. John McCain and Barack Obama are both braving the rain that caused the first World Series game to be called in 86 years. However, the prize the two candidates vie for is not sports or baseball glory; this contest is for the Presidency of the United States. Morning rallies by McCain and Palin in Hershey, and Obama, sans Biden, at Widener University in Philadelphia were attended by thousands. McCain and Palin maintain a plan of attack, and that polls are meaningless. Obama contends that McCain will bring nothing but four more years of the same, just another George W. Bush with a different face and name. Those of us who have ever needed quick loans may not experience too much discomfort with that, because it just might mean we will preserve our freedom of financial choice. A Democratic president and congress might not just afford us the same opportunity.
