Good catch, Peter. Habermas’s statements, of course, are the real (pleasant)surprise-"sign of hope." (I knew that he and Benedict had an exchange about that time - maybe the article referenced in the newspaper article is Habermas’s contribution - but I’d never come across that pro-Christianity statement.) It’s almost impossible for us over here to gage the impact such "defections" have, but you start with "huge." In general it’s more than "interesting" how this Pope has attracted all sorts of "interest" without the arts and personna of his predecessor.
