Myrna Blyth thinks Barack is kinda like Bill, our first black President.
Having finished the latest book, I kinda agree, for slightly different reasons. There’s a lot of moderate-sounding stuff (kinda like BC), but the bottom line is always on the left side of the aisle. There is one difference worth noting (someone correct me if I’m wrong): coming from Illinois, rather than Arkansas, Obama is much closer to the labor unions (and indeed the most rabid of the unions) than (Bill) Clinton ever was. He can talk a culturally conservative talk (appealing to the rank-and-file), but the dominant notes, in the end, are conventionally liberal in all senses of that term.
This is the thing that annoys me about Obama. I dont think hes come down in the middle on anything, and yet he gets all this love from guys like William Stuntz who think he will be the faith-friendly Senator from the center. PLEASE!
Some of our faith-based brethren feel (and are) so abused by "mainstream" "culture" that they will praise anyone who appears to show respect for them. It is a losers reaction. Obama needs to be exposed as a de facto fraud, immediately and incessantly. Whatever his subjective sincerity may or may not be, he is A PHONY in the sense that his moderate language means absolutely nothing of consequence. Any conservative who is fooled by the Obama Show deserves the hard-left government that would result from it.
