This is my third podcast with John Marini. It is still on Westerns, this time emphasizing the films of Sam Peckinpah (especially The Wild Bunch and The Ballad of Cable Houge) and how Peckinpah understands the "fundamental dilemna of America as a kind of tension between the Lockean man and the Rousseauan man." Very good stuff. You are making a mistake if you dont listen it immediately! Thanks, John.
It was good stuff. The whole series of podcasts were just lovely. I grew up watching cowboy movies and TV shows, and loved them. Since the first podcast in December, I have been watching John Fords movies as they trickled in from libraries all over the state. My local did not have even one. Now, Ill have to try to find Peckinpah.
These were a pleasure. Thanks.
