I wonder whether any of the current crop of candidates has the courage to take up Mario Cuomos and Newt Gingrichs invitation (or is it a challenge?) and the intelligence and judgment to answer it well.

I am interested in an alternative take on the "greatness" of these debates. Are they the beginning of the end of rational political discourse in America? Cutting through the Lincoln schick seems like it could be a full time profession...;)
