We are at a critical moment in Iraq--at the beginning of a key battle, in the midst of a war that is irretrievably bound up in an even bigger, global struggle against the totalitarian ideology of radical Islamism. However tired, however frustrated, however angry we may feel, we must remember that our forces in Iraq carry Americas cause--the cause of freedom--which we abandon at our peril.

Well said, Joe! I do wonder how voters in Connecticut can swallow stuff like this from the guy they voted for and the politics of "slow bleed" from everybody else in their Democrat Party. Doesnt make much sense when you think about. Perhaps they dont... much.
Joseph: the good Senator from my home state says that we should reassess "at the end of the summer." Then what? Is he - and are you - prepared to call for withdrawal if nothing has changed by then?
Brett has cleared up my confusion about how voters in Connecticut can swallow Joes strong support of our efforts in Iraq while also cheering the politics of "slow bleed" from everybody else in their Democrat Party. Well, sorta... I guess.
