Did McCain Flirt with Swtching Parties in 2001?

Is this alleged revelation startling or even new? Will it, as Hugh Hewitt claims, bury John’s candidacy?

McCain supports the third-world invasion of the U.S. What else needs to be said?

This is news to me, that’s for sure! Why would Tom Daschle try to make up a story about something like this? He knows the press will be all over it eventually.

And if it’s true, Hewitt’s right...the final straw for McCain.

It seems to me that dredging up OLD news about McCain to hurt is candidacy would be like bringing coals to Newcastle. He’s putting out plenty of material right now.

Hay Peter.. long time... I think if its true it only prove what is wrong with the guy... he is rather two faced. He wants to be supported for his principled views but he also wants to be liked and taken seriously. Following 2000 and how Nasty the 2000 campaign was, there was much ill will between W and he, and that ill well left him out of the circle of influence and any pol can’t afford to lose that. So, if any of this is true, he did want any power seeking pol would do, tried to get see if he could get a better deal by selling his vote to the other side and to see if they would give him a good buying power (apparently they wouldn’t for the most obvious reasons, his policy on these issues are to the right of Bush regarding manpower usage etc), or make the admin take him seriously.. and ironiclly what helped him was the war in Iraq going south under General Casey’s McCellensque troup protection policy that ended up making things worse rather than better.

Yea, I’ve always considered myself a good judge of character, and McCain is clearly Janus-faced. The sad thing is, I’m not sure it’s a calculated thing...I sense a level of sincerity in the man. He just can’t seem to help himself. Clearly not Presidential material.
