Good news from Anbar prvince, according to a front page New York Times article: "Anbar Province, long the lawless heartland of the tenacious Sunni Arab resistance, is undergoing a surprising transformation. Violence is ebbing in many areas, shops and schools are reopening, police forces are growing and the insurgency appears to be in retreat."

You guys read the NY Times? Did you miss all those other articles? Or do you just post what supports your fantasies about the efficacy of the "surge"?

Violence is ebbing in many areas, shops and schools are reopening, police forces are growing and the insurgency appears to be in retreat. Women, minorities are disproportionately impacted."
now it is a New York Times article.
Wrong response, Martin. What you meant to say was "Everybody knows the New York Times is part of the right-wing corporate media and does the bidding of its big business paymasters. Just look at the way the Times pipelined Cheney's lies to the American people."
Ah, thanks, John, for clarifying my thoughts for me. But that was Judith Miller, not the op-ed page...I wouldn't call Frank Rich right-wing. The NY Times ain't quite the Washington Times...not yet, anyway.
104 U.S. dead this last month alone.
Martin, neither Miller nor the article above were op-ed.
