Amoung several of my very right wing catholic University collegues (supporters of the current gov't-Law and Justice, not the more radical League of Polish Families) here in Warsaw, there is much talk about that a certain Karol might have been an informer in the 70s. Here in poland there has been many shocking relevations of several of the late Pope's close advisors being found to be informers and paid agents to the Polish Security Services. Now there is some talk that JP also may have been one and that like many other things Walesa did in his presidency was to destroy the file of himself and his close friends, but also JP's. This is a rumor, but one that I hear more and more among supporters both for the gov't's Active Vetting Policy of both Priests and the Professorate (that was overturned by the Polish Constitional Tribunal--even after the relevation that at least two of the sitting judges were in fact secret police informers).
