CIA documents

The CIA is to reveal "hundreds of pages of long-secret records detailing some of the intelligence agencys worst illegal abuses -- the so-called family jewels documenting a quarter-century of overseas assassination attempts, domestic spying, kidnapping and infiltration of leftist groups from the 1950s to the 1970s, CIA Director Michael V. Hayden said yesterday." Some reputations will take hits.

"Some reputations will take hits." Indeed. Then again, some us might see some badges of honor on this list.

True. It was good of those who would take a risky road to investigate potential threats to national stability to worry more about immediate threat than about their own subsequent reputations. It is dirty job the CIA is asked to do, to allow us our free society and free expression of our democratic ideals. It is hard to see how we should all be shocked that the folks charged with the job should get smeared by the job.

However, "unwitting" tests on U.S. civilians, including the use of drugs." sounds nasty. I wonder what that really means.

We must not let the media and the establishment spin these revelations to fit their liberal narrative. Most of these "abuses" may have been entirely justified.

"Must not"? How do we prevent that?
