Gays not Happy with eHarmony

The Gay lobby is suing eHarmony for discrimination because it is exclusively heterosexual in its scope.

Maybe they can go to Le Stud, a gay bar in Montreal being sued because it doesn't permit entry by women:

Well, I think there are all kinds of dating services that are exclusive and restrictive. Haven't I seen ads for Catholic and Jewish services? Private company...what's the beef?

Yeah, I don't get this. Doesn't "Match.com" make a big deal about this on their advertisements? I would think that would be enough for the gay community . . . It just looks bad when they get bent out of shape like this. If they don't like it, they can protest it, pressure it to change, etc . . . but law suits are just silly.

Matt, lawsuits are not "just silly." They're thuggish and tyrannical in this case. One more way of bullying the rest of society.

It actually wouldn't be difficult for eHarmony to add a "straight/gay" field for preferences, allowing gay people to use the site without ever bothering straight people. Even I'm not sure they should be REQUIRED to though. Maybe they'd benefit by running a no gays allowed disclaimer.

I haven't checked it out, but does eH prevent other people they don't approve of from participating? Atheists, for example, or Muslims?
