Just In Time for Back to School

Charles Sykes offers our kids a new set of old rules that--apparently--are no longer taught in school. My favorite (so far) is #17, which begins: "Your parents weren’t as boring before you were born as they are now. They got that way paying your bills, driving you around, saving for your education, cleaning up your room and listening to you telling them how idealistic you are."

Pretty profound stuff there. "Life is not fair. Get used to it." So, the next time someone here huffs about the liberal bias of the media, rather than deconstructing their specific complaint (or just ripping it to shreds) using reason, rationality, and evidence to the contrary, I should just shrug and remind them of that rule?
And for the record, I've never found my parents to be boring.
