That's quite a lineup--wish I could attend. If I haven't said so before that's quite an honor, Peter, and you certainly deserve it.
Congratulations!
We'll be there!
Congratulations, Peter! You certainly keep good company -- in both predecessors and speakers.
A well deserved honor, Peter. Congratulations.
Mega dittos, Peter. This is one event I truly am sorry I cannot attend. Enjoy the love! (As long as it's not Big Love.)
Seriously, folks, read the man's books...these well-wishes aren't just those of partial friends and blog-buddies. What you see from him on the blog here doesn't begin to suggest how powerful and important a thinker Peter Lawler is, although he is certainly a fine blogger also. The best of the bunch is probably Aliens in America. On the less-scholarly-more-accessible side, the best is Stuck with Virtue. And, the second-best book ever on Tocqueville is also by him, The Restless Mind.
Great news, Peter - CONGRATULATIONS! I would be tempted to fly out there for such a notable occasion and such interesting lectures -- but it turns out I have an old man's basketball tournament (at The World Senior Games, no less!)those very days. And you know my priorities.
