Great heading, Peter!
That's an interesting quote which led the article.
It's particularly striking to those like me, who recall his response to the Pueblo Conference and to the heretical devotees of Liberation Theology. Then Cardinal Ratzinger forcefully reminded the heretics that orthodoxy must both precede and inform orthopraxis. But in the quote which led the piece, Ratzinger seems to lack the balance that he insisted upon with the Liberation Theology heretics.
Of course Aquinas long ago noted that love of God is far more important than knowledge. The Devil himself knows God, knows him in an intellectual sense far better than man. But for all his knowledge, ---------------- he's still the devil, the deceiver, the proscribed one.
To "love WHAT IS, WHAT IS TRUE." Heavy, Man.
