PERSPECTIVES ON POLITICAL SCIENCE
Posted by Peter Lawler
Here are three fine article/symposium ideas from Ivan the K. Each, in a way, was ripped from the pages of NLT:
1. The legacy of Samuel Huntington
2. Rat Choice Theory (Ratzinger/Benedict) and American Liberalism.
3. The 50th anniversary of the publication of WHAT IS POLITICAL PHILOSOPHY?
I’m looking for a few good men and women to volunteer along these lines.

My suggestion: In what ways were George W. Bush's political difficulties caused by his fidelity to Reaganite political orthodoxy?
1. The coming political realignment
2. What comes after democracy?
#2, please.
After democracy comes a return to the state of war in which we all fight for remaining resources and eventually go completely extinct. We are so close to evolving yet our technology has great effects both positive and negative. Self interest cannot save us now for our technology is not advanced enough we all die and burn. Go gators!
Hey Peter
I did something a year ago for TWS on Huntington's legacy with regard to civil-military relations. It was a fifty-year retrospective on The Soldier and the State. If you think an expansion of this is worthwhile, I'd be glad to do it.
Mac,
Sure, go ahead. At least 4500 words. That's a good piece you did, and SH's legacy is the one thing about which I have nary a volunteer at this point. Just send it to me when you're done. Thanks.
Peter
