There will be no climate agreement coming out of Copenhagen next month
. Maybe next year, they say. But this year in Copenhagen was the "next year" that each annual meeting for the last ten years have been preparing for. Each previous meeting has kicked down the road all of the major sticking points, which were supposed to be ironed out once and for all next month. That this deadline is slipping reveals much about how the longstanding gap between rhetoric and reality can't actually be closed, and likely won't be. Don't believe this nonsense about having to wait for our Congress to act first.
