Obama's Budget Boost for Unions
It's not just in the modest 5% increase from 2009 in the Department of Labor
2011 budget--it's also where there's no increase at all for the Department's agencies--as in the Office of Labor Management Standards
, which is responsible for making sure that unions are transparent in their expenses and don't violate workers' rights. (In 2010--a bonanza year for the Department and for most DOL agencies--it got a cut of about 10%.) See the last page of the linked document, top line.
