President Obama laughs at tea party protesters and remarks that the they ought to say "thank you" to him and his administration for all of their great work in the area of tax-cutting. Classy on top of entirely missing the point . . .

My instincts run much more toward pessimism and I fear that Obama will be politically okay in the end, but Obama usually takes on that smug, irritated tone when he is feeling the heat
Bullies always do get irritated when they're cornered . . . as for your pessimism, I won't tell you to lighten up. Your pessimism is of the thoughtful and informed variety (not the knee-jerk and annoying kind) and I think it is absolutely essential for conservatives (and Republicans) to drink a good gulp of it every time they are tempted to do a pre-mature victory dance in order to guard against needing to cry in their beer after the game. We cannot let Democrat self-destruction be our strategy. Still . . . the more he plays this way, the happier I feel!
I am starting to find President Obama to be very amusing himself.
