Iran and Missile Defense

We don't have a missile defense that can handle threats from Iran.  So warn former CIA Director James Woolsey and Rebeccah Heinrichs.  The Bush Administration was building one, but Obama scrapped it, replacing it with one that "offers no added protection for the U.S. until 2020. That's almost certainly too little too late."   Moreover, might the new Obama strategic arms agreement with Russia limit our sovereign right of self-defense?

Rebeccah Ramey Heinrichs is a former Ashbrook Scholar.   A former manager of the House Bipartisan Missile Defense Caucus, she is now an adjunct fellow of the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies.   (She is also officially a DC  beautiful person, a status she indeed holds by nature.)

"Three months ago the Defense Intelligence Agency reported that by 2015 Iran, with help from North Korea or Russia, could field an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM)"
I really think that is not a likely scenario. Whatever happended to mutally assured destruction, Why would the Persians try to nuke us when they would have to know it was act that caused their own destruction. By 2015 I will be surprised if anyone would want a waste an ICBM on this country with the speed we are racing towards joining the third world: devalued currency, zero industry, and corrupt mafia government feeding off what little the people have left. But, you can't blame the PNAC crowd for pushing for more military spending can you?

Brutus, you show your ignorance of the Iranian regime. They believe that conflict will hasten the arrival 13th Imam, who will lead the armies of Islam to their triumph. One of Ahmadinejad's first acts as president was to donate $50,000 to the shrine which contains the well from which the Imam will spring out. They're not afraid of being nuked (and would President Obama nuke them if they didn't attack the CONUS?)
