Teachers in the summer

Terrence Moore writes a good column in favor of a nine month school year, and explains what the three "off" months are for.

I am currently living out in Rural Ohio. I live right next door to a teacher who is actually spending the summer planting crops. Don’t worry it is related to his teaching position since he teaches Agricultural Economics. But it wouldn’t necessarily be less interesting if the instructor was in the Humanities.
