Teach them geography!

Terrence Moore suggests that you buy your children globes, maps, any thing having to do with geography this Christmas. It is something that mosut be learned, and its fun, kind of like space travel.

Good call, as usual! I remember having a lot of fun with globes, maps, and atlases as a child. I also learned a lot of my geography from the "Carmen Sandiego" computer games (on our old Apple II). The youngster would play the role of a detective in those games, chasing a crook throughout Europe, the U.S., or the entire world and collecting a clue at every city to indicate the villains next destination. Fun times.
