I was struck by the lack of people in your pictures... is it you couldn’t find any people, or you just don’t feel confortable taking pictures of them?

Part of that was the nature of the shots. Several of the buildings were behind checkpoints. There are people at the checkpoints, but pictures of checkpoints are prohibited--men with guns quickly take your camera. I will try to make sure that some of the later shots include some of the locals and soldiers.
