From the print version of the Atlantic comes this amusing story:
"Each election year since 1992 the presidential candidates wives have submitted cookie recipes to Family Circle magazine, whose readers then voted for a favorite. So far the cook-of winner has always been the next First Lady. Laura Bushs recipe this year is for oatmeal chocolate-chunk cookies, Teresa Heinz Kerrys for pumpkin spice. But the predictive effect of the cook-off may not hold this time, because Teresa recently revealed that she doesnt even like pumpkin-spice cookies; a panicked staffer submitted the recipe on her behalf after Family Circle determined that Teresas first recipe (for Yummy Wonders) simply didnt work."
"Yummy Wonders." I love that. Do you think that might have been a favorite back in her native Mozambique?
So many comments, so little time.
Perhaps "Yummy Wonders" worked before they didnt. Or maybe, Theresa liked pumpkin spice cookies before she didnt. Or, well, you get the idea.
So, the Pumpkin Spice cookies that Ter-ay-za threw over the White House fence were not even *hers*?
I guess thats OK, since Marie Antoinette is so "above it all."
John, take your cookies and shove em!
How edifying.......
Now that Ive quoted Teresa tongue-in-cheek, Ill refrain from a Dick Cheney quote!
