It has been rumored that Associate Justice Clarence Thomas may be elevated to Chief Justice. So it makes perfect sense for the L.A. Times to have this hit piece on Thomas. They searched the records Thomas filed and found that he "has accepted tens of thousands of dollars worth of gifts since joining the high court." The gifts included a Bible once owned by Frederick Douglass.
But see this comment by Ken Masugi who used to work for Thomas.
