Ohio politics

Politics in Ohio, "the center of it all," will become more and more interesting over this coming year, and I remind you (as Mickey already has below) to keep an eye on Right Angle Blog for excellent coverage. In the Governor’s race note that the Republican National Coalition for Life has endorsed Blackwell, while the Hamilton County Sherrif has endorsed Montgomery.

Any so-called "conservative" who supports Betty Montgomery should be ashamed of herself. I wonder, when she is referring to "traditional conservative values," does she include speaking at NARAL fundraisers? Thats a pretty extreme position for someone who claims to represent the Cincinnati wing of the Republican Party. And its certainly not "moderate." It is far left, well out of the mainstream. If she becomes our governor, I am moving.
Lets hope the White House doesnt weigh in for Montgomery (because shes a woman.)
Can any knowledgeable person rule this out? Im curious.
Fat chance of that. She is far too liberal, and is not terribly bright. Blackwell, by contrast, is a rising star nationally, enjoys broad support from conservatives, and has already paid some dues to the administration (for example, he recorded ads on Bushs behalf to run against George Voinovich if Voinovich fought Bushs budget plans). If the White House intervenes, it will do so on Blackwells behalf. Montgomery is at least as low as third on that list.
