Salazar for governor?

I find this interesting. Why would a newly elected Democratic Senator from Colorado, Ken Salazar, be interested in running for Governor in 2006. Is he not amused with working with the national Democratic Party? Perhaps he doesnt like being in the minority? Colorado is all a buzz.

Because Bill Owens has been weakened politically by his messy marital status and by losing both houses of the Colorado legislature in a Republican year? Its more fun to be governor than senator. Yes, Salazar might also dislike marching in lockstep with Ted Kennedy, Chuck Schumer, and the rest of the hard-left uglies. But if so, he can always decide to be his own man. He need not be a governor in order to do this. So off the top, Im doubtful that its a sign of principled reaction to the Dean/Reid regime.
