So Much for Equality

So, New York City is now going to require a two-to-one ratio of women’s to men’s rest rooms in stadiums, etc. Doesn’t this violate the equal protection clause, not to mention the premise behind much of feminism?

It seems that the assumption is -- ladies require more time to take care of their business than do men. While the motiviation to alleviate long lines at the facilities is admirable, setting up an arbitrary ratio seems counterproductive and silly.

I’m guess that at most sports venues, men outnumber women attendees, and drink on average more beer than their fairer counterparts do. To see this in action, spend an afternoon in the bleachers at Wrigley. The lines at the (lone) ladiesroom is non-existant; at the (lone) mensroom -- well, let’s just say, I’ve spent an inning of baseball and two Old Style’s worth of time waiting in line.
