Amy Sullivans article on evangelical disaffection with Republicans received lots of attention (even from me). Her first example had to do with Democratic efforts to court evangelicals by sponsoring legislation authorizing courses on the Bible in public high schools. Republicans, she said, opposed the effort because they didnt want Democrats to get any credit.
Not true in Georgia, where the Republicans supported the bill and all the (token) opposition came from Democrats.
Note the appearance in the article linked above by Randy Brinson, who is one of Sullivans chief examples of a disaffected evangelical. He seems happy enough to me.
Democrats sponsoring legislation to have tax dollars pay for Bible studies (with the one semi-exception that was noted)? Ill remember this the next time I see something here about how the Dems are largely a pack of rabidly leftist, anti-religious wolves.
First lesson by democrat sponsored bible class:
Thou shalt not lie...oops that class has been cancelled. No one in the democrat party has any expertise in that field.
