Los Angeles Times reporter (and Pulitzer Prize Winner!?), Michael Hiltzik was busted recently for creating false identities on the comment section of his Golden State blog at latimes.com. He created the false identities in order to praise himself and his musings! As Prof. Knippenberg noted below courtesy of Daniel Henninger at The Wall Street Journal, blogging does have some appeal for the unhinged! Hugh Hewitt is all over this story at his blog with plenty of links, analysis, and commentary. Will the MSM circle the wagons here, he wonders? They’ve already suspended the blog! Not the author--but the evil blog! People don’t lie, blogs do! That’s why you should buy newspapers, right? So yeah, you can probably count on the MSM defending him!
