This is bound to get worse before it gets better.
Yes. It is always on the edge, somehow. Yet, somehow, doesn't quite collapse, held together by fear and power. And old regime, in short.
So I guess the bombing of Pakistan will commence shortly. Can't tolerate an undemocratic regime in the region, you know. :-)
In the chaotic conditions prevailing, this is a perfect opportunity to whisk off to captivity A.Q. Khan. We should send in a team to get him, and elicit whatever information he has.
After 9/11, we should have insisted upon Pakistan being stripped of her nuclear weapons. And I mean genuinely insisted. And after stripping Pakistan of those nukes within days of 9/11, we should have established a blanket policy of no muslim state is going to be allowed to pursue or possess nuclear weapons. And towards that end, no muslim state will be allowed nuclear power.
You need a Tolkien to describe the shadow that looms before us, before the West, before the whole world.
How could we have ever been so insanely stupid as to allow the crazed Pakis to get their hands on nuclear weapons. How could we have been so stupid? This political correctness, this multicultural relativism will be the death of many. And generations hence will damn our intellectual sloppiness, our moral incoherence, our utter and supreme stupidity to the heavens.
